The Return of Outrageous Fortune

A couple days ago a friend asked why I had stopped blogging. I gave the usual answers — busy, tired, burnt-out, etc. But tonight I stopped to think about it and realized that actually I have writer's block.

The weird thing? It's not that I don't have anything to say. It's that I have so much to say that I've created this elephant in my mind. Every time I sit down to blog, I feel like it has to be important, sharable and perhaps even publishable by people other than me. I have dreams of starting a weekly special needs tips post and/or submit stories to HuffPo and/or submit to real live print publications that pay money (those still exist, right?).

But with the space and time I'm at in my life right now, the end result of that line of thinking hasn't been mind-blowing writing; it's been no writing at all.

A friend of mine is fond of saying that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. So, this month I'm vowing to get the clog out. I did a blog post a day for a month here before in February 2012 and I think it's time for another. And, no, it's not just because I don't have any good books and I can't find anything to watch on Netflix.

This month is gonna be fun and to prove it I'm leaving this rad video right here for you to enjoy. You're welcome.
